Week of Fasting & Prayer – Day 3

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. – Habakkuk 3:17-19

Have you ever been in a dry season of life? Sometimes a dry season feels like…

  • You are just going through the motions…
  • Everything you touch breaks…
  • You are in a mood but just can’t put your finger on it…
  • You lack desire in lots of areas but especially in your walk with God…
  • You try to read your bible but not much is happening…
  • You feel paralyzed by decisions you need to make in life…
  • You are surrounded by community yet feel all alone…

Habakkuk finishes his letter to God’s people by reminding them of their dry season… The fig trees don’t blossom, there is no fruit or olives to be found and all the animals left the barn. To God’s people in this day, this was the equivalent of losing everything. They must’ve felt like it was hard to worship, go to church and talk to God. But Habakkuk gives us hope. He looks at the majesty and greatness of God and finds a reason to worship. He reminds us that…

  • God has SAVED us!
  • The Lord is our STRENGTH!
  • God LIFTS us from the valley and takes us to HIGH PLACES!

Acknowledge today that you are in a dry place. Let your needs and desires be known to The Lord. But then have confidence that He is MOVING and WORKING RIGHT NOW!

Today, we are praying for…

  • God to show us areas of disobedience so that we can repent.
  • A renewed passion for the things that please God.

For Impact Church, we are praying that…

  • God will help us send out more mission teams this year
  • God will ignite passion, guidance and wisdom in our leaders
