Week of Fasting & Prayer – Day 4

And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. – Luke 22:14-20

Are you a forgetful person? Do you ever forget where you put a file on your computer? Your car keys? A child? We process so much information in the 21st century that it can be easy to forget the things that are most important. Today, we are reading about Jesus walking His disciples through the first Lord’s Supper. We call this communion at Impact Church. There are many benefits to communion for the Christ follower. However, the one we want to focus on today is REMEMBRANCE. Do you ever forget your relationship with Christ? Do you ever forget what it took to save your soul? Do you ever forget to whom you are called to love first and foremost? Today, as we fast and pray, let’s REMEMBER JESUS CHRIST! Get rid of all distractions and do whatever you can to think of Him above all other things!

Today, we are praying for…

  • God to put specific people on our hearts to share The Gospel with
  • Boldness to share The Gospel

For Impact Church, we are praying that…

  • God will bless our new student ministry that launches February 18!
  • Our Serve Team Leaders (Ellen, Ashley, Roy, Jeanette, Mike & Josh) will have all the energy they need to keep serving The Lord!
  • God will send more workers to Impact Church!
