God Loves Refugees

We are constantly surrounded by people. Whether it’s at work, sitting in traffic or even on social media, we see the faces of people so much that we forget these are real people. And these real people have real stories!

I believe this might be what we do with the refugee crisis at times. We see pictures and read articles and listen to people boil all of this down to a political debate. But let’s grab a shovel and dig a little deeper…

According to the U.N., there are more refugees on earth today than at any other time in human history.

A refugee is someone who has been forcibly displaced from their home due to war, conflict or persecution.

There are over 50,000 refugees from all over the world in Athens, Greece.

Since 2015, over 1 million refugees have come through Athens, Greece.

Syria alone has over 11 million refugees (internal and external), many of them finding refuge in Athens, Greece.

So, here’s what I want you to know…

This refugee crisis is NOT a political issue. It is a human issue.
Most of the refugees in Athens, Greece are from some of the spiritually darkest parts of the world.
We, The Church, have an opportunity to meet physical and spiritual needs of people who may have never heard The Gospel otherwise.

So, what can you do?

  1. Pray – Will you pray for Impact Church as we minister to refugees in Athens, Greece? Through your prayers, you can be a part of seeing God move in some of the hardest parts of the world.
  2. Serve – Have you ever stopped to wonder what you could do to meet the needs of refugees? We would love to help you find a place to plug in and serve.
  3. Give – Would you give financially to our team going to Athens, Greece to minister to refugees? Through your gift, you will be making a Gospel impact around the world!
